I focus on print and pattern for apparel. Surface design allows me to explore the world around me. The patterns I create reflect my passion for color and color psychology. My go-to style is graphic and reflective of my love for bold color. I love incorporating elements from my Thai and Taiwanese heritage into all of my art, allowing me to share a piece of myself with others. Customization and personality are very important to my work and I enjoy creating fun pieces that are expressive. I’ve always been a quiet, contemplative person, with an interest in psychology and sociology, where I can learn why and how people think and the effects that contribute to our psychological state. I’m also Asian American, which I’m very proud of but it has also contributed to an identity issue where I don’t fit into any one group of people. In an attempt to place where I belong in this world, I reflect on why I feel a certain way or why I’m making the choices that I am. You can learn so much about yourself and your relationships with other people just by slowing down and thinking deeply. One way I’ve enjoyed expressing my feelings about myself and my life is through art. Identifying with physical things has helped me face myself in a new way, exposing raw emotion and a hunger for self-assurance.
